Gates in Irvine

Walk gates, double driveway gates, sliding gates and gate openers, built and hung so they latch every time.

What makes a gate sag?

Weight on a weak post. A gate post carries the whole leaf, so it gets a deeper footing and a heavier post than the line posts, and wide wood gates get a steel frame.

Swing or slide?

Swing gates are simpler and cost less. Sliding gates make sense when the driveway slopes up or there is no room for the leaf to swing.

Can you add an opener?

Yes. Gate operators are sized to the gate weight and length and installed with safety sensors. The wiring usually needs an electrical permit.

Gates within the front setback

Gates in the front setback follow the same rising height line as fences: 2.5 feet at the property line, then 1 foot higher for each 3 feet of setback, up to 7 feet.
