Wood fences in Irvine
Privacy fences, good-neighbor fences and front pickets in cedar or redwood, set on posts that are built to stay straight.

Which woods hold up here?
Western red cedar and redwood are the two we use most for boards and pickets. Both weather better than plain pine. Posts take the most abuse because they sit in soil and sprinkler water, so we use ground-contact treated lumber or galvanized steel posts with wood infill.

What styles can we build?
- Board-on-board. Overlapped boards stay private even after the wood shrinks.
- Good-neighbor. Alternating boards give both yards a finished side.
- Horizontal slat. A clean modern line that needs a stiffer frame.
- Picket. Low and open for front yards.
How long will it last?
That depends on sun, water and upkeep more than on the price per foot. Keep sprinklers and soil off the bottom boards, and reseal or stain every few years. Hot, dry summers pull moisture out of wood fast, so a sealer is worth it.
Wood fences in Irvine
Wood is common on interior lot lines, usually in a style your association already uses. Keep in mind that the city lists grape stakes among prohibited fence materials, so a grape-stake look needs a different product.
